Instructional coaches plan an integral role in the development and growth of teachers and students at Clay Lamberton. We use a Student-Centered Coaching model, which is an evidence-based instructional coaching model that shifts the focus from ‘fixing’ teachers to collaborating with them to design instruction that targets student outcomes. Taking a data-driven approach increases the learning and efficacy of teachers, coaches, and, most importantly, our students.
Coaches work one-on-one and in small groups with teachers, providing guidance, training, and other resources as needed. Together, they focus on strategies for engaging students and improving their learning. Coaches also are often responsible for providing or arranging professional development activities for all teachers in a school or district. At Clay Lamberton, we have three literacy coaches and three math coaches that support our staff and students.
